OpenID allows you to use an existing identity to sign in to multiple websites, without needing to create new passwords - openid.net.

This is true for sites like lagosians.com and mynaijanews.com. If you're already a member of lagosians.com, you can log in at http://www.mynaijanews.com with your existing account.
