LOVE GAME

Hello friends,

Allow me share with you as usual something that happened earlier today.

I was privileged to eavesdrop unnoticed while waiting for one of my spiritual mentors to finish meeting with a usually long queue of people who seek to have audience with him on Sundays. Three young men sat close to me and the topic of their discussion caught my attention- Love!!!

They were playing a very unusual game to keep them busy while waiting their turn to see my mentor. Each one of them took turn to give their definition of love and they wrote down each definition. The game later came to look more like a two-way discussion after one of the trio got an urgent call and had to leave his two friends to carry on alone.

At a point they seemed to have run out of every possible definition they could come up with; now even I had started enjoying the game. The guy whose turn it was decided to make some humor out of it and said. “Love is when we run out of definitions and are allowed to pass”

Just then I heard another unfamiliar voice spoke- “If you don’t mind, may I?”

There was a short moment of silence, and then she spoke again. …

I turned to see who it was that had just given this wonderful definition and sitting right behind the players was a lady curdling her baby in her arms.

Then I realized that I was not the only one eavesdropping on this interesting game of love definitions.

I quickly penned down this last definition of the game before it evaporates. - “Love is a deliberate choice made without prejudice, conditions or reservations, love for the seemingly unlovable and undesirable…it covers a multitude of sins”
