Is love really blind?

Many people are confused about whether love is blind or not but I must say categorically that love is not blind, rather it's we people that get blind when we are in a relationship. In Psychology, a man known as Sigmund Freud, an Austrian physician, categorized our personality(what make us different from others) into three. These are: ID, EGO, and SUPER EGO. He said the ID is the irrational part of the body. It is that part of the body that does things without reasoning. What this implies is that, people that allow their ID to control them are those people who jump into a relationship without having a deep thought on it. They are people who base their relationship on the exterior(beauty and money) and not on the interior(character or behaviour). This set of people are influenced by the ID. Therefore, they go into relationship with the heart. The heart of man always wants sweet things.

The EGO which is second, carries out the wishes of the ID. The ID and the EGO are similar in some ways but a bit different. Their difference is that while the ID does things irrationally, the EGO does things logically or in a civilized way. What this implies is that, people under this category give it a second thought when considering having a relationship but because of their weakness towards taking the right decision, they are often deceive by the exterior factors which are beauty and money. These are the people who always find it difficult to choose a life partner.

The third one which is SUPER EGO, is the conscience. It is that part that always behave like a gentle man. It does not rush at things but think deeply before deciding on issues. What this implies is that people that belong to SUPER EGO consider both sides when going to a relationship and choose the suitable one. They don't only look on the outside but also look inward. They are the ones that go into relationship with the head and not with the heart. They don't allow love to get to their head or blind their eyes but always take the right decision when they discover a foul play from their partner. Besides, they silently walk away and look for the next available person if their proposal is turned down. This set of people are SUPER EGO; They don't believe that love is blind.
